How to Pack a Corporate Gift Set: Choosing the Box, Filler and Insert
The gifts are decided. The tumbler, the notebook, the pen are sitting in a list on somebody's desk, and now the question is how they arrive. A good corporate gift box does two jobs at once: it keeps everything still while the parcel is handled by a courier, and it makes the set look considered the moment the lid comes off.
Most packaging problems come from one mistake — picking the box before measuring what goes in it. This guide works the other way round, starting with the contents.
Start with what is going inside
Lay the items out flat on a table in the arrangement you want the recipient to see. That layout tells you two things: how many compartments you need, and how much depth.
Counting compartments
One compartment suits a single hero item, or a loose group you want to sit together in a bed of filler. A one-compartment L-size box measures 368 x 273 x 80mm, which is a generous field for a tumbler and a card, or a folded garment.
Two compartments keep two items from knocking together — a bottle on one side, a notebook on the other. The two-compartment L-size box and the two-compartment M-size box both do this; the M is the tighter footprint of the two.
Three compartments are where a set starts to read as a set. A three-compartment L-size box gives each item its own frame, and the three-compartment M-size box at 308 x 248 x 80mm does the same in a smaller parcel. For one substantial item with room to breathe, the one-compartment M-size box is 308 x 248 x 80mm.

Depth is the constraint people forget
All the compartment boxes are 80mm deep. That depth is designed for flat and low-profile gifts: notebooks, pouches, cardholders, folded textiles, power banks. A tall flask does not stand up in one — it lies flat in its well, which is the correct way to pack it anyway, since an upright bottle in a shallow box will push the lid open in transit.
If your set includes something that must stand, or an item taller than 80mm, move to a deeper style rather than forcing the lid.
Box styles and when each one fits
The whole packaging box range is stocked plain, so you are choosing on shape and closure, not on decoration.
Rigid compartment boxes
Brown paper board with a gloss finish, supplied with shredded paper already included, and a choice of a cover box or a black cover sleeve. These are the workhorse of door gift packaging: they stack on a pallet, they stack on a registration table, and the compartments hold the layout you set at packing time.
Slide box
The slide gift box is 250 x 160 x 105mm in 300g paperboard with a 500g art card sleeve, in black or brown. The extra depth over a compartment box takes items that will not lie flat, and the drawer action gives a slower, more deliberate opening — useful when a photo of the unboxing is part of the plan.

Magnetic lid box
The magnetic lid gift box is 360 x 265 x 90mm, 157gsm coated paper over 1200gsm greyboard, in black. It arrives flat and assembles with double-sided tape, which matters for storage: you can hold a large quantity in a small space and build them the week of the event. The greyboard gives it the weight of a premium box, and the magnet closes with no ribbon or sticker.

Kraft, for a notebook-and-pen set
The kraft notebook and pen gift box is 350g kraft paper, 235 x 195 x 20mm, with two shaped wells sized for an A5 notebook and a pen. The notebook and pen are not included — you supply those. It is recyclable, which is usually the reason it gets chosen over a laminated box.

Handheld and basket, for hampers
When the recipient carries the gift away themselves, a handle changes the experience. The luxury handheld gift box is a green cardboard case, 250 x 140 x 120mm, with a gold metal handle and a lock buckle; the handle is removable and can be fitted on request. The rattan retro basket is a woven-look PP and PU basket, 300 x 210 x 130mm, with carry handles and a locking strap — the right shape for hampers and food-item sets, and it survives being reused at home.

Window and custom shapes
Also in the range: kraft folded clear window boxes, slide-in window boxes with strap, book-style hard boxes with window, and custom-shaped hard boxes. A window is worth considering when the product itself is the selling point and you want it visible before opening.
Fillers and inserts
Filler is not decoration. An item that can slide inside its compartment will arrive with scuffed edges, and a set that shifts in transit looks careless when it is opened.
Shredded paper
Shredded paper fills the void around irregular shapes and lets you set the item at the height you want. It comes included with the compartment boxes, the slide box and the magnetic lid box. Ordered separately, colour shredded paper is 30gsm soft paper in even cuts, 50g per pack, in white, grey, navy blue, black, red or green (box not included). Matching the shred to a company colour is the cheapest way to make a plain box look deliberate.

EPE foam insert
Where shredded paper cushions loosely, foam holds an item in one position. The black velvet EPE foam insert is 255 x 165 x 50mm, velvet-faced, with strong cushioning and a structure that is hard to tear. One restriction to note: it fits the slide gift box only. Do not order it against a compartment box or the magnetic lid box, because the footprint will not seat.

Small-item packaging: pens and pouches
A single pen handed over loose reads as a leftover. In a case it reads as a gift, which is why pen packaging is worth specifying separately.
- The signature pen gift box flips open, 179 x 48 x 35mm, leatherette paper with an aluminium plate and a black flannelette interior, in black or blue. It holds up to two pens — useful when the set pairs a rollerball with a ballpoint.
- The classic pen gift box is textured paperboard, 172 x 45 x 23mm, with an inner tray that holds the pen still so the barrel does not scratch against the walls (pen not included).
- The slide box pen packaging is a paper slide box, 180 x 40 x 20mm, in black or brown, with a holder that fits most standard pens. The slimmest option when you are packing a pen into a larger set.
- The cylinder PP pen case is 151mm of black PP with an internal grip — the one to choose if the pen travels in a bag rather than a box.
- The clear pen case with silicone spacer is transparent acrylic, 156 x 26 x 25mm, with a silicone spacer holding the pen in place, each supplied in its own OPP bag.

Pouches instead of a box
A pouch is the soft alternative. It absorbs knocks, it costs nothing in storage space, and the recipient keeps using it after the gift has been unpacked. The 8oz canvas drawstring pouch is 330 x 150mm and takes a bottle, a towel, cutlery or stationery — the 8oz refers to the weight of the canvas, not the size of a bottle. The wool felt pouch is 246 x 90mm with an elastic strap flap closure, the Japanese flip cover pouch is canvas with a wooden button at 260 x 63mm and is washable and reusable, and the waterproof 210T polyester drawstring pouch is 220 x 160mm.

Putting a logo on the box
Every box ships plain. Logo printing on the packaging is available and quoted separately from the box itself, so decide early whether the branding sits on the gift, on the box, or on both.
The methods that suit packaging are silk screen, UV print and hot stamping. Hot stamping in gold or silver foil works well on flat box surfaces and gives the crisp metallic finish most corporate identities are designed around. UV DTF stickers suit the slide box, where a printed panel on the sleeve can carry more artwork than a foil block.
UV print, laser engraving and UV DTF are run in-house, which means those jobs move on our own schedule and a mid-run change is sorted the same day.
Which method suits your box is decided by the material and the artwork. Tell our sales team the product and the logo and they will recommend it.
Ordering and lead time
Send through the item list, the quantity and the artwork. If you are unsure about fit, give us the dimensions of the gifts going in and we will point you at the box depth that works.
Once artwork is confirmed and payment is received, printing normally takes 5 to 14 working days. Items going out without printing move faster. Stock sits in our own warehouse in Selangor, deep enough that a large order usually ships off the shelf instead of waiting on a supplier, and we deliver nationwide on our own transport and through courier partners.
Tell us what is going in the box and we will work backwards to the packaging. Get in touch with our team to start a quote, or browse the full gift set packaging range first.
